This website and our other services are provided by Car Store Club Limited.
If you provide your data by contacting us, you use our websites or services, or when you or your organisation become a client, or supplier etc., then like all businesses, we may need to process your data.
We will use personal data about you for the purpose for which it is given and in accordance with all applicable laws (including the GDPR and Data Protection Act) and this Notice. This Notice may be updated from time to time so please check back to this page for the most current information.
- Who is in charge of your data?

- What are our purposes and legal basis for data processing?
If you are a Car Store Club user, Car Store Club needs to process personal data about you for the following purposes:
(a) Creating and managing your Car Store Club account: You are not obliged to provide any personal data (except for an email and password) but in addition to the above you are able to enter your name, email, phone number, and address or postcode. You can edit this data by logging into your account.
(b) Having service providers answer your inquiries: if you indicate that you are interested in one of the storage service providers on Car Store Club, then we will provide the service provider with your relevant details.
(c) Providing customer service: if you contact us with a query or complaint, then we will collect and process your details and keep records of our interactions with you (e.g. calls, emails, chat sessions, letters), as needed to investigate and provide you an answer.
(d) Running promotions, contests or prize draws: if we run a promotion, contest, or prize draw then we will collect and process your details in order to manage your entry. We may at the same time give you the opportunity of signing up for an account or newsletter but will only use your data for that purpose if you accept.
(e) Sending newsletters/offers: if you subscribe to newsletters or other offers or information from us then we will use your data to tailor and send these to you, until you change or cancel your subscription or contact preferences.
Our legal basis for all the above is your consent given when you sign up for an account or to use any of the above services or features.
(f) Service communications: we may need to contact you in relation to service-related issues, e.g. forgotten account details, technical issues with the service, updates to terms and conditions, or other non-promotional messages.
(g) Quality control: we will keep a record of all requests you make for contact from a service provider so we can follow up and check that you got good service, investigate any issues, and ensure that our bills to service providers for our services are correct. We also provide these to each relevant service provider.
(h) User surveys: we may occasionally contact you by email or text giving you the opportunity of reviewing Car Store Club and our services, or transactions made through Car Store Club. We will analyse the results in order to improve Car Store Club, may publish extracts in our marketing, and may provide feedback to service providers or other service providers where applicable.
(i) Improving Car Store Club: we will analyse which pages or parts of the website get the most views or attention, and how our users arrive here, so that we can improve. This may include collecting details about your device and network, such as browser version, IP addresses, operating system details, and screen size. This may also involve the use of cookies or similar technologies as explained in our Cookies Policy at the end of this Notice.
Our legal basis for these data uses is that they are necessary for our legitimate interests in ensuring that Car Store Club users get good service, understanding how people use Car Store Club, and improving it for the future. This data is used securely, and not in any intrusive way. There is no negative impact on your privacy or rights and so we have concluded that we are able to process this data to support our legitimate interests.
If you are or work for a client or potential client, or a service provider or supplier working with Car Store Club, then Car Store Club may need to process certain data about you for the following purposes:
(a) clients: to provide and charge for Car Store Club’s services as agreed, including managing your login credentials, and commercial, technical and billing contacts: the legal basis for this processing is that this is necessary (if you work for a corporate client) based on our legitimate interests in managing our business, or (if you are an individual client) in order to carry out our agreement with you;
(b) suppliers: to receive and pay for services and goods provided to Car Store Club: the legal basis for this processing is that this is necessary (if you work for a corporate supplier or potential supplier) based on our legitimate interests in managing our business, or (if you are an individual supplier) in order to carry out our agreement with you;
(c) to comply with laws and regulations that apply to us including in the areas of invoicing, accounting and tax, record-keeping: the legal basis for this processing is that this is necessary in order to comply with Car Store Club’s legal and regulatory obligations;
(d) to promote Car Store Club’s services and products (e.g., for sending you news and information about our publications, seminars or services of potential interest to you): the legal basis for this is that this is necessary based on our legitimate interests, namely managing and developing Car Store Club as a business and improving our websites and services.
- Do we provide any personal data to third parties?
Car Store Club does not share your data with third parties for any purpose outside those listed above.
In providing services and managing its business, Car Store Club may need to share your personal data with third parties who work with or provide services to us. This includes other service providers that process data on our behalf and which we will ensure are subject to similar obligations of data protection as referred to in this Notice.
Where these are based in countries outside the UK, the European Union, the European Economic Area, or other places not officially recognised as having equivalent data protection laws, this will be done on the basis of safeguards that are intended to ensure that your data is kept as secure as under applicable UK and EU laws. These safeguards may include standard contractual clauses issued by the relevant authorities. If we receive a valid request we may release a copy of such safeguards.
Other circumstances where Car Store Club may need to disclose your personal data to third parties could be (a) where required by regulators, courts, or law enforcement agencies, or by applicable laws, regulations or codes of practice; (b) in connection with legal disputes or proceedings; or (c) in order to exercise or defend Car Store Club legal rights.
- For how long do we store personal data?
Car Store Club will only retain your data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
However, please note that personal data in Car Store Club’s possession may need to be retained even after the end of our relationship with you, in particular in order to comply with applicable legal or accounting rules.
Car Store Club will normally retain records for the longer of the limitation period applicable to civil claims in relation to services provided (under English law normally six years) and the mandatory period for holding tax-related records (normally six years from the end of the financial year).
In relation to potential clients and marketing related data, Car Store Club will retain this data for the time that the relationship remains active and will review periodically whether the information is still relevant or should be erased.
- What are your legal rights?
Applicable laws give you various rights relating to your data. For example, you are entitled to ask at any time:
(a) for a copy of the personal data that Car Store Club holds about you (“right of access”);
(b) to have any incorrect personal data about you corrected (“right to rectification”;
(c) for data about you to be erased (“right to be forgotten”) or if that is not possible (e.g. due to a legal retention period as referred to above) or you do not want that, to have processing restricted; or to object to particular types of processing;
(d) to receive an electronic copy of data you provided to us, for provision to a new service provider (“data portability”).
Where Car Store Club processes any data based on consent that you have given in the past, then you are always allowed to withdraw that consent (although the processing that took place before withdrawal will still be legal).
Car Store Club is always reachable as indicated in Section 1 above to resolve any issues or doubts you may have in relation to processing of your data or to help with exercising your legal rights. If you believe that your rights have not been respected then you also have a right to complain to the Supervisory Authority or Data Protection Authority in your country (i.e., in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office at www.ico.org.uk) to ask them for a resolution.
- What if you don’t want to provide your personal data?
You do not have to provide any personal data in order to view our website. If you want to receive offers from storage service providers, then you will need to provide your contact details for them to follow up your inquiry. If you or your organisation is a Car Store Club client, then we will need to process some personal data from authorised users so that they can log in and access the relevant services.
- What about third parties who you come into contact with on the website?
Our services may contain links to other websites or services, e.g. providers of storage or other services, whose privacy, data processing and cookie policies will be different from ours. If you view or use such websites or services, you should review their privacy policies and terms of use as Car Store Club has no control over the ways these third parties collect or use personal data.
- Does Car Store Club use cookies?
Car Store Club uses cookies to record the pages visited, date, time and duration of your visit for audience measurement purposes. For this, cookies will be set on your browser which will also record e.g. the IP address or other information relating to your device.
A cookie is a small file that may be placed on your device. The cookies we use relate only to audience measurement and analytics and do not retrieve any contact data about you from your device. You are not obliged to accept cookies (the website will still work if you reject or clear them, although you may have to re-enter your account details), and you have the ability to accept, decline or delete cookies using the settings in your web browser.
